I just wish the game was designed for long term play and having a respawn able wood and rock supply would do that. It also gets you out of your comfort zone and go under water to deal with the sharks and wrecks.
The main reason I do like the game is it makes you travel from island to island to get materials. Then obviously doing more diving for minable materials. I would not expect rocks to regrow, but them washing ashore or appearing the the sand during low tide would be a more realistic feel to the game. Mainly the small pines would be a likely item. I agree that there should be more resources in the game that do naturally respawn. "Aerofluff" Thank you as well for your reply. That is what brought me to making this post. I'm 34 days survived into the game ventured to multiple islands and used LOTS of sticks to build my mini barge and house with dock out in the water, before realizing that the small pines are not respawning.
It would be good if this info was already in the game though. This makes leaf hunting much more valuble than just for water. I'm thinking, only use sticks for needed materials ie: tools, boat parts, farm plots, weapons etc.
So i guess in 16 leaves to fill from empty. I tried leaves and it took 8 leaves to refill my fire from half. I did try this method and it does work as of for future readers. This makes the game less of a disappointment. "The Dough" This was the first post I have seen stating that palm fronds (no respawn) or fibrous leaves can be used in the fire for cooking. There are also other fish in endless supply that can be fished for food, as well as respawning shark. Fibrous leaves respawn from young palms and yucca, and you will only need so many palm fronds for crafting. unless they are planted in your own garden plot.įor fires, instead of burning sticks you could use palm fronds or fibrous leaves. Meaning, once they are picked from a tree etc that grows naturally, they won't regrow. If you plant the other plants that can be picked for fruit etc and plant in your own gardens they also respawn, but they wont respawn naturally. Only Yucca, Sharks, and Young Palms respawn. Originally posted by TheDough:It's easier to list what does respawn than what does not respawn. Devs shouldn't design a game to make you waste your time. That's not fun gameplay either, even if it does force the player to make multiple trips and artificially inflates gameplay time. It rustles my jimmies when I go on an expedition and want to bring back important objects, and instead have to dedicate inventory space to hauling rocks like they're some rare commodity. Obviously rocks don't grow and I'm fine with those not magically reappearing throughout an island, but I think it would be easy enough to allow a player to go diving in shallows for them, or maybe smaller ones wash ashore, something plausible enough. But no tree growth in any short-term sense that makes it too easy - if you need wood immediately, you need to find a way to get to another island to decimate its' trees. I'm firmly in the camp that stuff needs to be plantable, regrowable, fruit should naturally/slowly replenish on its own. Or at least keep venturing out and bringing them back (although eventually you'd deplete everything around you. Most people will say it's to keep you mobile, traveling, can't stay on one island for too long, so that you have to go to the next for more of the limited supplies. This has been a longstanding point of debate throughout early access. If this is the way the game is intended to play out, then I'm very disappointed. I liked the game play and the survival aspect, but there does not seem to be a way to actually survive or be rescued. So, basically your stranded and destined to die. Reason I bring this up is, if wood resources do not respawn/regrow then what is the point? No wood means no fire, if there is no fire then there is no reason to collect meat of any kind. However, after my second day survived i noticed there were no more crab around my starting island.Anyway, what i'm trying to get at is.Ĭan we get a accurate current list of what items in game DO NOT RESPAWN. I'm still un sure about respawns on sharks and other sea life. small pine trees, rocks, palm trees basically all native plants excluding the Yucca. I'm noticing that several resource items in game "Do Not" respawn and are not able to be added to a farm ie. I've run into several questions that are hard to figure out on the forum. I'm currently new to Stranded Deep and I'm about 30 days survived.
